A snow holiday is truly one of the greatest holidays – but it can seem somewhat daunting if you’ve never been to the snow or Hotham before.
The information below has been designed to step you through the journey to Hotham, checking in and to make sure you get the most out of your time in the snow. We want this to be the best holiday we're ever had!
If you have any questions at all please contact your Hotham Holidays consultant on 1800 HOTHAM ((1800 468426) or Guest Services (03 5758 4470) who are on board during the winter season from 8am – 5pm on (03) 5759 4470 to assist you with any questions you may have.
Water resistant outerwear is highly recommended for keeping dry on the slopes and when touring around the village. If you do not have access to water resistant outerwear you can hire it on the mountain at Hotham Sports at Hotham Central, Jack Frost, Pinnacle DP in Dinner Plain or in Harrietville (off-mountain).
To keep warm, wear clothing that can be layered so that you can peel it off or add additional layers according to your body temperature. Pack thermals and/or skivvies, t-shirts, leggings, fleeces, woollen socks, beanies, neck warmers and waterproof gloves.
TIP – Wear thin woollen socks to keep your feet the warmest & most comfortable. Not thick socks and not two pairs of socks either!
To protect your skin and eyes, do not forget sunscreen, sunglasses and goggles. Remember to pack comfortable, waterproof footwear that will offer good grip in slippery, snow conditions. High heels don't go so well in these conditions, nor do runners or backless slip-on shoes.
When out on the slopes have a few things on you to make your experience more enjoyable. These include your free trail map, a snack for energy like chocolate or fruit, some money for hot drinks or snacks, and of course your valid lift pass!
